I believe deeply in respecting each person’s journey and unique path. In each relationship, I emphasize wholeness of mind, body and spirit. My background as a teacher and teacher educator gives me clear thinking, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to individuals’ unique needs and styles. I work with clients of all sexual orientations and gender identities and am knowledgeable and affirming about transitioning and local resources. Combining humanistic, feminist and depth approaches, with specific training in Jungian analysis, EMDR/trauma and therapy with queer individuals, I offer creative and in-depth opportunities for each person’s growth.
I earned a master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from Indiana University South Bend. I also completed basic training (Levels 1 and 2) in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and a Clinical Training Program in Jungian psychotherapy from the C.G. Jung Institute in Chicago, where I am now a senior candidate in the Analyst Training Program. In addition, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Western Michigan University and master’s and doctoral degrees in Education from The Ohio State University. I was previously a special education teacher and a faculty member in the School of Education at IU South Bend. I am licensed as a counselor in Indiana, Michigan and Illinois, with 14 years of counseling experience.
I am a lifelong Midwesterner. I enjoy traveling, live music, being in nature, reading, playing with my animals, walking labyrinths, exploring Native American spirituality and traditions, and spending time with my loved ones.
